As a bird freak, my children are my parrots. This means I'm constantly clicking, purring, and whistling throughout my day to communicate with them. The metal barbell did not allow me to make many of those sounds. I had ordered the FLEXI barbell for an upcoming MRI but had the most delightful surprise ~ wearing the FLEXI barbell allows me to purr and talk with my parrots in their language again! I was considering giving up my tongue piercing for my birds' sake, but now I don't have to. I will wear only the FLEXI type tongue jewelry from now on.
